Meet the Team at Cornerstone Dental Group

Dr. Daniel Douglas brings Texas roots and exceptional dental expertise to Cornerstone Dental Group in Rockwall. A proud native Texan, Dr. Douglas began his academic journey at Sam Houston State University before earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas San Antonio. His commitment to excellence led him to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at East Carolina University in North Carolina, where he graduated with distinct honors.

 

With a patient-first philosophy, Dr. Douglas is passionate about transforming dental visits from a source of anxiety into a positive experience. He specializes in providing pain-free, high-quality care while creating a welcoming environment that makes dental health something to look forward to rather than dread.

 

After his time in North Carolina, Dr. Douglas is thrilled to be back home in Texas with his wife Kate and their son Noah, where they're putting down roots in the Rockwall community. When he's not caring for patients, you'll find him cheering on the Dallas Cowboys or enjoying outdoor adventures with his family, including their faithful companion, their dog, Guinness.

Meet Melissa Licon, our accomplished registered dental hygienist at Cornerstone Dental Group. Her impressive 18-year journey in dentistry reflects her dedication to continuous learning and excellence in patient care. Beginning as a dental assistant in 2007, Melissa's passion for the field led her to earn her dental hygiene degree from SBC Dallas. She then earned a Bachelor's degree and, most recently, a Master's in Health Studies from Texas Woman's University in 2024.

 

Since joining our practice in 2020, Melissa has exemplified her commitment to creating positive, educational experiences for every patient. Her approach combines clinical expertise with genuine warmth, focusing on building lasting relationships while providing valuable oral health education. She takes pride in motivating patients to enhance their home care routines and fostering a collaborative, positive environment among team members.

 

Outside of the office, Melissa's energy and creativity shine through in various pursuits. She's an avid runner who completed a memorable half-marathon with her mother and sister, creating cherished family memories along the way. Her artistic side emerges through her Cricut projects, where she designs everything from cookie stencils to custom T-shirts for special occasions. When not crafting or running, you might find her immersed in a good book or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Taylor Williams is a skilled dental hygienist at Cornerstone Dental Group. Her passion for dentistry runs in the family. Following in her mother's footsteps, Taylor began her dental career as a registered dental assistant in 2013 before advancing to become a registered dental hygienist in 2017. She holds an Associate of Applied Science in dental hygiene from Tyler Junior College and a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from Texas Woman's University.

 

Taylor's approach to patient care was deeply influenced by her own childhood experiences with a compassionate hygienist who transformed her anxiety into empowerment. Today, she brings that same level of understanding and education to her patients, helping them achieve optimal oral health through comprehensive hygiene treatments and personalized education.

 

A natural competitor with a creative spirit, Taylor balances her professional dedication with an array of engaging pursuits. When she's not caring for patients, you might find her dominating at trivia nights, competing in sports, or pursuing her passion for furniture restoration. Her artistic inclinations – which once had her considering a career in interior design – now complement her precise and detail-oriented approach to dental hygiene. Taylor's combination of technical expertise, genuine care, and creative energy has made her an invaluable member of our team since joining in February 2024.

Linda Cauble is our seasoned front office coordinator at Cornerstone Dental Group, whose diverse career path has equipped her with exceptional business acumen and customer service skills. A Rockwall native and graduate of Rockwall High School, Linda's professional journey includes owning her own business, Calico Cupboard, and working with prominent organizations like Blue Cross Blue Shield and Community Bank before finding her dental home with Stewart Dental in 2000.

 

With over two decades of dental office experience, Linda expertly manages the front office operations, from coordinating appointments and financial arrangements to insurance verification and patient communications. Her commitment to building lasting relationships with patients and their families has been a cornerstone of her success, always working in harmony with the team to achieve their shared goal of patient satisfaction.

 

Beyond her professional life, Linda defies expectations with her remarkable weekend pursuits — from 2006 through 2024, she helped maintain a 3,000-acre farm, operating bulldozers, managing cattle, and handling heavy machinery. Her passion for classic cars takes her to Biloxi's "Cruisin the Coast" every October, and she enjoys church activities, travel, and exploring estate sales. Linda's transition to Cornerstone Dental Group in 2024 brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to our practice.

Meet Erica Saric, the dedicated patient care coordinator at Cornerstone Dental Group. Her journey in dentistry was inspired by her experiences as a young competitive gymnast. After an injury led to numerous dental visits, her fascination with dental procedures sparked a career that began in 2013. Erica received her formal training from the National School of Dental Assisting in Frisco, Texas, and she brings over a decade of expertise to our practice.

 

As our patient care coordinator, Erica expertly manages patient scheduling, insurance verification, and treatment plan reviews while supporting Dr. Douglas in providing exceptional care. Her genuine enthusiasm for helping patients achieve their perfect smile, combined with her comprehensive understanding of dental procedures and insurance matters, makes her an invaluable team member.

 

When she's not coordinating patient care or answering dental questions, Erica pursues her passion for running and enjoys unwinding through cooking and reading. She's currently embarking on an exciting personal journey of learning Croatian, adding another dimension to her diverse skill set. 

Arelis Lopez brings over 15 years of expertise as a registered dental assistant to Cornerstone Dental Group. After receiving her certification from Dental Careers of Topeka in 2007, she began her journey in dentistry, officially joining the field in 2017. As a military spouse, Arelis chose dental assisting for its portable career opportunities, allowing her to maintain professional consistency while supporting her family across multiple duty stations.

 

At Cornerstone Dental Group, Arelis expertly manages patient care, from preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments to taking dental impressions and processing x-rays. She also provides comprehensive pre and post-operative instructions and handles vital administrative duties.

 

Originally from the historical region where Diego Columbus once governed the Spanish Americas, Arelis now enjoys making her mark in her current community. When not ensuring smooth operations at the dental office, she can be found exploring local trails with her dog, traveling to new destinations, or pursuing her passion for cooking.

Carrie Luna began her dental journey in 1998 through a serendipitous invitation from a neighbor. With over 25 years of experience in dentistry, she has dedicated herself to continuous learning through extensive continuing education and dental seminars. She has gained invaluable knowledge while working alongside exceptional dentists throughout her career.

 

As an RDA, Carrie's primary focus is creating positive, comfortable experiences for every patient who walks through our doors. Her warm smile and genuine care have helped forge meaningful connections with patients and team members. She brings a wealth of perspective to our practice, having witnessed and adapted to the remarkable evolution of dental technology and techniques over the past quarter century.

 

Outside the office, Carrie embraces her role as a self-proclaimed "animal whisperer," sharing a special connection with all creatures, great and small. She finds joy in life's simple pleasures, from attempting to nurture spring flowers (despite Texas summers' best efforts) to accompanying her husband on peaceful fishing trips on the lake.
